Neuburger : Maldoror
The image of the pianist-composer, so flamboyant during the romantic period (such as Liszt whose bicentenary is being celebrated, on this occasion a two-piano transcription by Saint-Saëns of his Sonate that will be published by Durand), is being revived through Jean-Frederic Neuburger’s exceptional talent and multi-form engagement. Though he is only 24, the young prodigy is already a solid composer. Maldoror for piano solo is one of the most striking recent works in the genre. He describes the work’s peculiarity to Parade and in which context it can be presented.
